For a truly diverse wardrobe, you want to make sure that you're developing your collection of Snoopy ties correctly. This is perfectly in line with my method of doing things, anyway. For a while there, I felt like a cog of the machine every time I wore a suit. They are a necessary evil in my line of work. I have to go into an office and everything. If my friends from art school could see me now, there would be no end to the laughter. But the path of the artist was a long time ago for me. Now, it's all I can do to jazz up my appearance as best as I can.

Snoopy ties represent an effort for me to hold on to who I am. Not that I am knocking the three-piece-suit across the board. Some of my buddies form the office are quite comfortable in them. Not only do they wear them to work, but you can frequently catch them out socially dressed to the nines as well. It probably has a lot to do with background and how you were raised.
I had a fairly loose and relaxed childhood. My parents never made me dress up really. They were kind of hippies at the time. All peace, love, and free expression. They were really encouraging when I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in art. I started with an attraction to painting on canvas, like a lot of artists do. But eventually, I developed my own likes, and ways that i wanted to do things. I figiured out that comic strips were the thing for me. Although I didn't wear the Snoopy ties back then, I did enjoy the work of Charles Schutz, namely, "Peanuts." It was an inspiration to me, and what I feel got me into the medium that I grew to make my own.
How did I get form that to Snoopy ties? It's a long story. And one that many of you have probably lived in one way or another, so I won't bore you with the gritty details. Suffice it to say that the road to artistic stardom and riches is a long and treacherous one. Heck, the road to artistic solvency is pretty pothole filled itself. I stuck to it for years, but eventually my time ran out and I couldn't support myself doing what I was doing.
I'm not upset about it though. I feel lucky. A good friend was in a position to get me an interview with his boss and a shot at a job that I could never have landed walking in off the street. The only catch? It was in an office. I would have to wear a suit every day. Them's the rules. But there were no rules when it came to Snoopy ties.
Here I am, following a dress code. Lucky enough to have work, even though I didn't plan my life around getting this kind of it. I am grateful. But I do insist upon wearing my Snoopy ties to remind me of the person I was and the dreams that he had.
